CATEGORY BUYING MANAGER

Work Location: Beijing, China

Do you have 5+ years of experience in sourcing and buying Jersey, Sweat, Flat Knit categories of womenswear, and very exprienced in cost control & supply chain mangement?

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete product development, buying and production, responsible for Jersey, Sweat, Flat Knit categories etc.
• Be responsible for pricing, margin, delivery, and quality (the KPIs) over all your categories.
• Manage a team of buyers and technicians.
• Generate sourcing strategy, source, and shortlist and pre-qualify suppliers.
• Work with foreign and local designers and design managers on sample developments, new trends, fabric sourcing.
• Evaluate suppliers’ and buyers’ performance timely.
• Expand supply market locally (map the Chinese supply market) and internationally.
• Assure valid cost breakdowns.
• Assure best practice and synergy utilization.
• Establish internal reference guides for target prices across categories.
• Optimize supply chain (suppliers and sub suppliers)
• Process optimization (internal / external)
• Control lead-times, negotiate and implement supply agreements.
• Define supplier KPIs and follow up.
• Follow up on budget.
• Represent and communicate the Bestseller Code of Conduct

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Garment/ Purchasing Engineer or relevant major.
• 5+ years sourcing/buying and production experience from fashion or retail business, preferably experience in Jersey, Sweat, Flat Knit categories, strong in cost control & supply chain management.
• Strong fashion mind and business sense
• Strong experience of Sourcing including offshore (APAC)
• Strong in adapting strategies
• Strong Leadership and Management qualities
• Structured processes best suiting business environment
• Manufacturing, product and costing knowledge.
• Proven track record
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Used to travel (domestic/international)
• Self-starter, proactive and results oriented.
• Fluent in English
