PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT CATEGORY MANAGER

Work Location: Beijing, Shanghai or Hangzhou

Are you a commercial-minded Product Development Leader with solid experience in sourcing, development and buying womenswear?

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage the product development of your category, including assortment planning, product selection, and sales strategies
2. Lead a team of buyers in executing buying strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely and cost-effective production
3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align product development with overall business objectives
4. Analyze market trends and consumer preferences to inform product assortment decisions and collaborate with Design Department on optimized product range
5. Oversee the supply chain to ensure smooth and efficient operations from sampling to bulk production
6. Develop and manage budgets for product development activities and ensure profitability targets are met
7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and enhance product quality

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in product development, category management within the fashion industry
2. Strong commercial sense and business mindset, knowledge on retail industry
3. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and foster cross-functional collaboration effectively
4. Proficiency in assortment planning methodologies and strong product selection skills
5. Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
6. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English
7. Ability to work independently and remotely, demonstrating a proactive and self-motivated work ethic
8. Background in retail operations and familiarity with current industry trends and best practices
9. Preferably holds a bachelor’s degree or above
10. Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally
11. Open to consider work locations in Beijing, Shanghai, or Hangzhou
