Are you a creative Denim Design Team Leader with 8 + years of experience in women’s denim design and with 5+ years’ proven team management experience? Are you looking for new challenges and willing to join a leading fashion group? If so, you might be the one we’re looking for.
Currently we’re looking for an experienced Denim Design Manager for a well-known European Womenswear Brand in China. In this role, you’ll lead a team of 4-5 Category Designers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the ongoing success and continued growth of the Category Design teams in China.
2. Responsible for driving collections to reflect the high standing and design content of the brand, capturing the latest trends, and translating them into commercial successful styles to be sold thru our online and of offline channels.
3. To ensure you and Team are on top of knowing latest trends reports & collections on fashion websites, social media, and catwalks
4. Facilitate the management of the design team to ensure that they are constantly researching and updating their ideas, knowledge, and developments for best commercial results.
5. Direct cooperation with management to comment on focus list to boost sales.
6. As a role model, train and give professional growth to Designers and improve their commercial mindset
7. Analyze orders and define gaps and weak areas in in collections
8. Initiate further growth and sales potential within Womenswear categories and discuss with management
9. Constantly ensure upgrade of product: fitting, treats, trims, details, design value, and trend speed reflecting lessons learnt from sales data and analysis.
10. Take active part in Pre-Season analysis and Trends discussion, Themes research and colour palette selection etc.
11. Ensure monthly competitors/trend visit and report and store report, is undertaken by the team and present and distribute to all
12. Close cooperation with the category buying teams through sample development to ensure a better delivery
13. Manage part of the design team, ensuring we have the best people in each position, training them to grow and create a natural succession plan.
Requirements:
1. Minimum bachelor’s degree in Fashion
2. Proven experience in designing fashion womenswear (minimum 3-4 years)
3. Proven experience of managing and leading the team (minimum 5 years)
4. Good management and leadership skills to create a positive and energetic team
5. Strong team building and planning skills
6. Strong portfolio
7. Creative design flair and strong sense for fast moving trends
8. Excellent knowledge of fabrics and attention to details is an absolute must
9. Excellent knowledge of Adobe programs (Photoshop/ Illustrator)
10. User knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
11. Strong team player with ability to prioritize workload as well as being able to work on many different collections at once.
12. Work level English and can communicate in Chinese
