CATEGORY DESIGN MANAGER

Work Location: Beijing, China

Are you creative, commercial-minded with strong sense of fashion trend and is very familiar with Chinese young generation market? Are you a team leader with solid experience in Designing women’s Denim and down Jacket? Willing to join an international Design team and living in Beijing? Then plz. check this role. We’re looking for a Category Design Manager for our client to be responsible for Denim & Down Jacket categories.

Key Responsibilities:

1. You’ll be responsible for the ongoing success and continued growth of the Denim & Down Jacket Category Design team in China.
2. Responsible for driving collections to reflect the high standing and design content of the brand, capturing the latest trends, and translating them into commercial successful styles to be sold through our online and offline channels.
3. To ensure you and Team are on top of knowing latest trends reports & collections on fashion websites, social media, and catwalks.
4. Facilitate the management of the design team to ensure that they are constantly researching and updating their ideas, knowledge, and developments for best commercial results.
5. Direct cooperation with management to comment on focus list to boost sales.
6. As a role model, train and give professional growth to Designers and improve their commercial mindset.
7. Analyze orders and define gaps and weak areas in collections.
8. Initiate further growth and sales potential within Womenswear categories and discuss with management.
9. Constantly ensure upgrade of product: fitting, treats, trims, details, design value, and trend speed reflecting lessons learnt from sales data and analysis.
10. Take active part in Pre-Season analysis and Trends discussion, Themes research and color palette selection etc.
11. Ensure monthly competitors/trend visit and report and store report, is undertaken by the team and present and distribute to all.
12. Close cooperation with the category buying teams through sample development to ensure better delivery.
13. Manage part of the design team, ensuring we have the best people in each position, training them to grow and create a natural succession plan.

Your qualifications:

1. Bachelor or above degree, major in Fashion Design with excellent knowledge of fabrics
2. Min. 6+ years’ experience in womenswear design, especially in feminine styles.
3. Solid experience in women’s denim design (fabric, wash, tech……)
4. Experience in down jacket design is a big plus.
5. Creative design flair and strong sense for fast moving trends
6. Good commercial sense and familiar with Chinese young generation market
7. Be able to prioritize workload and can work on many different collections at once.
8. Attention to details, strong team player, good leadership skills with proven team management experience (min.1 year)
9. Excellent knowledge of Adobe programs (Photoshop/ Illustrator)
10. User knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
11. English is at work level; fluent Chinese is a big plus.
